Finishes
What is the difference between an Item and a Finish?
Typically an Item is something that your firm will specify and/or purchase. The ultimate purpose of an item is to be placed on one or more of these documents: proposal, budget, purchase order, invoice, or a specification.
A Finish is something that your firm will specify but not purchase. The only destination of a finish is on the Finish Schedule. These schedules are typically provided to the client or contractor so they know what finishes go where.
Some DesignSmart clients developed a way to enter finishes as items, before the Finishes module was developed. These clients can continue to enter finishes this way or start using the new finish module.
