Sidemarks
What is a Sidemark?
"Sidemark" is the term used in DesignSmart to refer to the information that is put on a PO for each PO line item, which the vendor then puts on the shipment to help identify it.
Some firms might refer to this as the "tag" number. The good news is that DesignSmart will automatically create the sidemark for you when the PO is created so you don't have to.
Default Sidemark
The default sidemark that DesignSmart generates is as follows:
Project # Project Name / Item # Item Name / Area and Quantity.
For example :
18-1011 Brooks Remodel / 1 Accent Chair in Floral Fabric / Living Room Qty =1
You can easily change the default side mark by going to your System Settings> Paperwork>Purchase Orders>Additional Settings.
Custom Sidemark
If you need to enter a custom side mark for a particular item, you can do so on the Product Attributes tab on the Item Detail View. Click on the Sidemark button to enter the custom side mark.
