System Preferences Settings
Client Portal Tab
Go to System Settings > Client Portal tab.

Settings Tab
General Mailbox - enter an email address that all, or most, staff have access to. This is the address that will be used when a client enters a question or a comment on the portal. The expectation is that the lead designer for the project will respond to the client, but by sending all email to a general email address, if the designer is not available then other staff will be aware of the email and can respond to it.
Send client questions to the General email address? If your design firm does not want to be sent the client emails, then you can leave this switch off.
Show Invite Friends and Family/Co-workers? If your firm does not want your clients to invite friends and family to access the portal, then leave this switch off.
Portal title - this is the first line on the login screen on the portal under your company logo
Portal tagline - this is the second line on the login screen on the portal
Invite Button Label - This is what your clients will see if you allow them to invite “Friends and Family”. Commercial firms will want to change this to something like “Invite Colleagues.”
Allow Partial Selections - This option will allow your clients to partially select items on a proposal sent to them via the client portal.
Default Settings - Allow Partials - Turn this toggle on for partial selection to be a default setting for your firm.
Status for Items set to Maybe - Here, you'll set a status that will be shown in DesignSmart for items whose status has been changed to Maybe on the client portal.
¨Maybe¨ Reasons - Click here to type in the reasons the client can choose from after choosing the option ¨Maybe¨.
Status for Items set to Rejected - Here, you'll set a status that will be shown in DesignSmart for items whose status has been changed to Rejected on the client portal.
¨Rejected¨ Reasons - Click here to type in the reasons the client can choose from after choosing the option ¨Rejected¨.
The above are system wide settings
Please note that these are system-wide settings that apply to all projects and all clients.
Client Tab
Welcome Message
Welcome Message - This is the message your client will see when they sign in to the Client Portal for the first time. They can then click on the check box available to state that they would not like to be shown this message again.

Invitation
Email with Login Instructions - This will be the text that is sent to the client when you send them the login credentials for accessing the portal. As you can see, this code is complicated, so send us the text you want to have in this field, and we will set it up for you.

Document Approved
Document Approved Email - This is the email that will be sent to your clients after they've approved a document from the Portal.

Proposal
Proposal Email - This is the email your client will receive when you send them the proposal from DesignSmart.
Proposal Approval Message - This is the message that your client will see when they approve a proposal on the portal.
Email when Proposal Approved - This is the email your clients will receive when a proposal is approved.
Proposal Terms PDF - This is the proposal terms PDF that will be added to the portal for your clients to have easy access to these terms.

Friend/Family Tab
Friend/Family Welcome Message - This is the message the person will see the first time they log into the portal.
Friend and Family Email - this will be the text that is client will use to send invitations to their friends.

Invite Who?
You will be able to change the term for the people you invite. So on the client portal you might have “Invite Friends and Family”, or “Invite Co-workers”, or “Invite Colleagues”.
Client Questions / Comments Email
This text will be included in the email that is sent to your firm whenever a client asks a question.

Credit Card Statement
If your firm allows your clients to pay invoices via PaySmart via credit cards, then you can add a statement here that will appear when they approve a proposal.

Contract Document Names (optional)
Go to System Preferences > Customizable Lists > Attachments to add the names of your contract documents. These names will typically be something like: Contract, Contract Document or Scope of Work. You can have up to two contract documents.
