Alt Bids
Alternative Bids
Alt Bids is an abbreviation for Alternative Bids. You can use this feature when you want to shop items around and get competitive pricing.
To enter alternative bids, go to the Item details > Pricing > Alt Bids:
Next, to create an alt bid follow these steps:
| Step 1 | Enter the date of the bid in the date field. |
| Step 2 | Click the "Add Alt Bid" button to select the vendor of the alternative bid. |
| Step 3 | Enter a note in the note field if appropriate. |

Select the bid you wish to move forward with. In the screenshot below, Amazon is the selected vendor for this item. To change the vendor to Absecon, click on the Select button next to Absecon. This will cause unit cost of $1.050 to be replaced with $950 It will also change the vendor from Hickory to Clarence. |
Alt Bid Related Reports
There are two reports related to alternative bids: "Alternative Bids" and "Max/Min Pricing". If they are not in your DesignSmart system, please email support requesting that they be added.
