Required Implementation Tasks
Because PaySmart has been built specifically for interior design firms, it provides more options than a normal merchant account like QuickBooks. While these options are intended to benefit both your firm and your client, the process of getting set up has a few more steps. Below are the steps and the estimated time to complete them.
Step 1. Notify DesignSmart
The first step is to email Support@DesignSmart.Tech to inform us that you want to activate the PaySmart online payment module.
Estimated time to complete = 5 minutes
Step 2. Apply for a Stripe Merchant Account
Then, apply for a Stripe merchant account at Stripe.com
Estimated time to complete = 1 - 2 hours
Step 3. Set Up Your Company Policies
Next, you'll need to review the various policies required for all merchant accounts in DesignSmart. For some firms, the default text provided with PaySmart might be sufficient, but you will need to read over each section and make the required changes.

Step 4. Set Up Your Email Default Text
You will want to set up in DesignSmart the text that will be used when you send a client an invoice, and the text that is sent to the client after they make an online payment. For more information, please click here.
Estimated time to complete = 30 minutes
Step 5. Change your Proposal and Invoice Terms (optional)
You might add to your terms that if they have the option to pay by credit card, then there will be a surcharge for that, and you can include in your terms the surcharge percentage and amount.
Estimated time to complete = 15 minutes
Step 6. Configure QuickBooks
There are just two tasks that need to be done in QuickBooks. You can learn more about them here.

Step 7. Configure your clients for PaySmart
This will take no time on your part. Simply let us know what you want your default payment (ACH or ACH/credit cards), and we'll update your clients for you.
